چکیده

In this paper, a nonlinear mathematical model is proposed and analysed to study the depletion of forestry resources caused by population and population pressure augmented industrialization. It is shown that the equilibrium density of resource biomass decreases as the equilibrium densities of population and industrialization increase. It is found that even if the growth of population (whether intrinsic or by migration) is only partially dependent on resource, still the resource biomass is doomed to extinction due to large population pressure augmented industrialization. It is noted that for sustained industrialization, control measures on its growth are required to maintain the ecological stability. 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Modelling effects of industrialization, population and pollution on a renewable resource

In this paper, a mathematical model is proposed and analysed to study the simultaneous effect of industrialization, population and pollution on the depletion of a renewable resource. Criteria for local stability, global stability and instability are obtained. It is shown that if the densities of industrialization, population and pollution increase, then the density of the resource biomass decre...

Modeling human population patterns on tree density

In order to evaluate the possible correlation between the tree density and the human population density, the forested area in Nav Asalem district located in Guilan Province was selected. The descriptors of tree number and basal area per hectare as well as the stand density index were used to determine the tree density, which was conducted from a 2014 forest inventory including 62 cluster (558 p...

Physical environment and life expectancy at birth in Mexico: an eco-epidemiological study.

The objective of this ecological study was to ascertain the effects of physical environment on life expectancy at birth, using data from all 32 Mexican states. 50 environmental indicators with information about demography, housing, poverty, water, soils, biodiversity, forestry resources, and residues were included in exploratory factor analysis. Four factors were extracted: population vulnerabi...

VARIATION IN LEAF MORPHOLOGY OF PARROTIA PERSICA ALONG AN ELEVATIONAL GRADIENT IN EASTERN MAZANDARAN PROVINCE (N. IRAN)

In order to investigate the variation within and among populations of Parrotia persica C.A. Meyer based on leaf morphological traits, three populations were selected from Behshar area, in the east of Mazandaran Province. The populations selected along a transect in different altitudes of 182, 340, 540 meter above the sea level, respectively. In each population, 10 trees were selected and some l...

A Novel Integrated Approach to Modelling of Depletion-Induced Change in Full Permeability Tensor of Naturally Fractured Reservoirs

More than half of all hydrocarbon reservoirs are Naturally Fractured Reservoirs (NFRs), in which production forecasting is a complicated function of fluid flow in a fracture-matrix system. Modelling of fluid flow in NFRs is challenging due to formation heterogeneity and anisotropy. Stress sensitivity and depletion effect on already-complex reservoir permeability add to the sophistication. Horiz...
